COVID 19 UPDATE

Are you still working during the Covid 19 pandemic?

Yes, I am continuing to draw for newlyweds and brands during this time. I work from my home studio and use my local post office. During the strictest stage of lockdown, I used private couriers collecting from my front door and would happily revert to this should the situation in London worsen again. I do not anticipate there being any delay to my service or postage.

How are you?

I’m good, thanks. And I appreciate you clicking this box to check. I had my daughters at home with me from March-Sept 2020, so I was illustrating at the weekends and working on my blog and social media in the evenings. It worked out fine and we are enjoyed the family time together, pottering around the garden, cooking and homeschooling creatively and working through the Disney Plus catalogue.

Wedding Bouquet
Illustration Service

How long does it take to draw a Full Bouquet Illustration?
Usually around 8-10 hours, though this of course depends on the complexity of composition and the species featured within the bouquet. Quality of photography is another key factor. A professional image taken from the perfect angle makes things much easier for me than a blurry or wonky shot taken on a mobile phone. I can work from either, but the latter may involve more creative interpretation on my part. Additional time goes into our email/phone/FaceTime consultation and careful mounting, packing and wrapping.
How long does it take to draw a Mini Bouquet Illustration?
Usually around 4-5 hours, though this of course depends on the complexity of composition and the species featured within the bouquet. Quality of photography is another key factor. A professional image taken from the perfect angle makes things much easier for me than a blurry or wonky shot taken on a mobile phone. I can work from either, especially given the Mini Bouquet Illustration is already a creative interpretation of the original bouquet. Additional time goes into our email/phone/FaceTime consultation and careful mounting, packing and wrapping.
I have received a Wedding Bouquet Illustration Service gift voucher. What happens now?
Congratulations on your marriage! I can’t wait to see the photos and hear all about it.  Please email photography of your bouquet to charlotte@charlotteargyrou.com. While you wait for my reply, why not check out this blog post about the service or have a look at some examples and testimonials from my customers here.  Follow me on Facebook or Instagram and we can get to know each other.
How long does the illustration take to arrive?
I aim to send both full and mini bouquet illustrations within one month of receipt of photography. It may be sooner. I would advise you as soon as I am aware of any unforeseen delay, such as personal illness. Should you be the reason for a delay (for example, you take 4 weeks to approve my pencil line sketch), then naturally the whole process will take longer.  I will always aim to accommodate your deadlines, such as special occasions and anniversaries – just please let me know as soon as you can.
I want to buy the service as a gift for a relative/friend's wedding. Do I buy it now or wait until after the wedding?
If you buy now, we can start our conversation and provisionally schedule time in my diary to illustrate the bouquet. Let’s say the recipient gets married in October and you wish to purchase the illustration as a Christmas present. By booking before the wedding, I’ll then already know the wedding date and when I am likely to receive photography from you or the couple. I would reserve time in November or early December accordingly and beat the Christmas post.  If you wait until after the wedding and photography takes six weeks to arrive and only purchase the service then, my schedule means I may not have availability to draw for you immediately. So, it’s best to give me as much notice as possible if you are aiming to gift in time for a specific occasion or anniversary.
Is the illustration framed?
No. In my experience, my customers prefer to select their own frame once they have received the illustration. Your illustration will be sent signed and mounted in a high quality white mount and then plastic-wrapped. The service includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity, protective packaging and Royal Mail UK Special Delivery.
Do you come to the wedding?
No, I work from photography you send to me after the wedding. You can read more about the process on this blog post.
Do I need to send you my bouquet immediately following the wedding?
No, I work from photography you send to me after the wedding. You can read more about the process on this blog post.
Can you work from a dried bouquet?
Yes, but you will receive an illustration of a dried bouquet. If you would like me to reimagine your fresh bouquet as it was on your wedding day and you do not have photography, I can do this, but would consider this a private commission (POA) and not part of the Wedding Bouquet Illustration Service. This is because working without photography takes significantly longer and requires more consultation between us.
Do you offer refunds?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of creating unique artwork, I cannot offer refunds. I work closely with my customers to ensure our communication is comprehensive and clear, and I send regular updates along the way. There are several opportunities to make suggestions and amendments throughout the process. It is vital to me that you love your artwork, so all feedback will be considered. We’ll work together to ensure the final illustration is perfect for you.

Private Commissions

How long does it take to create a commissioned botanical illustration?
That is a “how long is a piece of string?” question. It entirely depends on the size of the requested illustration, the complexity of composition and the subject matter. I price commissions based on an hourly rate of the time I expect it will take to complete.

Brand Partnerships

How do you price brand partnerships?
We would chat to agree a brief, and I would price the project based on an hourly rate and my costs.
Do you have a contract?
If we are going to work together regularly, I will prepare a Terms of Agreement document for you to contribute to. That way, we are both clear on our timelines, expectations and costs before we embark on a project together.

Postage

Which postage system to you use?

COVID 19 UPDATE – please email me to discuss delivery times and methods.

It’s all here in my Terms and Conditions.  I use Royal Mail Special Delivery because we receive a reference number, so that you and I may track progress online. A signature is required upon delivery, which is also visible online. The service includes insurance for up to £500, so if the worst happened and an item was lost, my costs/time would be covered to re-draw.

Can I arrange my own collection?

COVID 19 UPDATE – please email me to discuss delivery times and methods.

Yes, that’s no problem. Royal Mail Special Delivery is included in the price of a private commission or Wedding Bouquet Illustration Service artwork, but if you feel happier arranging your own courier, please just contact me.
